Ella and I decided to team up for this assignment to talk design aesthetic and building blocks. We went through a myriad of ideas ranging from chairs that sense and turn to you as you walk by, clothing or jewelry that would communicate with one another as they brushed through crowds, and camouflage for war veterans. Let’s just say it spiraled into worse and worse ideas (like furniture embedded with buttons that record what you’re thinking). Anyways…
So, we stuck with furniture that senses. And instead of sensing the user, it senses desirable locations within the room such as sunny corners. We imagine a chair that is able to creep towards a light source. Over the course of the day, it can turn from the conference table and face the bright sunny day outside the big, bad office building.
